Student Housing Connection

Off Campus Student Housing in Rochester NY ~ Affordable Quality

U of R student Chris Pohlman said "Student Housing Connection was fair and reasonable for the entire duration of the renting period. Maintenance problems were handled swiftly. The lawn was kept trimmed weekly when necessary by an outside service. The house we stayed in (30 Black Creek Rd) was renovated the summer before we moved in and was even better than when we toured in the Spring! Utility costs were reasonable and the location provided the ability to have access to great internet.

Our security deposit refund was absolutely fair, and we are very satisfied! I would definitely recommend Student Housing Connection to friends and students in the area seeking residence."
U of R student Cindy Louka said "I have lived in two of Joe's properties in the last 2 years; a four and five bedroom. Rent is affordable, and Joe is always available though text or email if anything goes wrong or needs fixing in the house. Joe offers many ways to pay rent, making it really convenient and easy. Would definitely recommend for students living off campus for the first time; the houses are spacious and incredibly close to campus (UR)."

University of Rochester student Laurel Li said  "I have rented from Joe at 190 Lattimore Rd since last July. He is a very responsive landlord and is willing to work things out depending on your need. He is also very helpful whenever there is an issue in the house. When the need arose, Chris from his maintenance staff would be over to fix stuff for us in timely manner. The place I live at is very safe and convenient to U of R.  It is adjacent to bus stops, convenience stores, and many restarants. As a student at University of Rochester, I think you can live there well without a car.d

There was once I forget to pay rent on time. And he reminded me thru text, but didn't charge me late fee. I'm not saying you should pay rent late, one must do what the contract says,  I'm just saying he is very nice and flexible.  I would recommend anybody who is looking for a safe place and a helpful, friendly landlord to rent from Joe!"

"I am a PhD dental student at UofR  from Brazil.

When I still was in Brazil I started looking for houses close to UofR for my 1-year internship in Rochester . I then found one of Joe's houses on 148 Weldon St. I had seen only pics of the house, but I trusted Joe and signed the 1-year contract.  It's been 9 months since I got here and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Great location, perfect housing conditions, neighborhood is safe (lots of student living in this area), each room of the house is well equipped (kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, even the basement). The most advantageous part of the story is that I pay considerably less than my other friends living in the same area. I usually bike to UofR medical center and it takes me only 8 minutes to get there. Awesome! I'm leaving soon to Brazil, but anytime I come back to Rochester I'll certainly get in contact with Joe."

University of Rochester student L.S. said, "I have lived at one of Joe’s properties and the 4 bedroom house is located very close to UR. This location is great as you can walk to school, Strong Hospital and close to retail shops located on Mt Hope Ave. In regards to renting, the place is ideal, convenient and you can pay rent via chase quick pay that comes out of your checking account so you don’t have to mail out a check each month. You can reach Joe easily via text, email or phone if needed. There is a garage that will let you fit 4 cars in the driveway as well which is important as parking near the U of R is hard sometimes."

University of Rochester student Thanh Huynh, Class of '15 said "Joe is a great landlord and an overall great person. He’s quick to respond if you ever need any maintenance or if you have any housing questions. He’s fair, reasonable, and knows how to take care of his tenants. I am 110% satisfied with having Joe as a landlord."
